9th Kyokushin World Tournament

Brisbane Dojo was honourably represented at the World Tournament by Balan Balasubramania, Shaune O'Farell and Nathan Goodin. Taking place in Tokyo last November, all three of our boys dug deep to fight against the world's best. Whilst they didn't advance past their first fights, they did themselves proud and gained great experience.

Balan showed spirit and strength, featuring in the first fight of the Tournament against Ewerton Teixeira. Teixeira went on to become World Champion. Shaune fought Tatsuya Murata who was the only Japanese fighter to finish in the Top 8 and Nathan didn't get past the heavier Claive Corderio from Brazil.

A group of us from the Dojo were fortunate enough to make it to Tokyo for the Tournament. It was an amazing experience that any Kyokushin student should take if the opportunity arises.

December Grading

The final grading for the year will take place on Saturday 22 December, 10am sharp. Students grading should be at the dojo by 9.30am at the latest. Bring plenty of water, it will be a hot one!
