Sticky - 2010 QLD STATE KARATE CHAMPIONSHIPSApplication forms and information is now available on the 2010 QLD State Karate Championships page Link: Tournament Page 02.03.10 - More T-shirtsThe new batch of t-shirts has arrived and will be at the dojo from Wedensday nights class. So for those of you who ordered you can pay and pickup your t-shirt from them. Please see Jeff before or after class. Those of you who have taken your shirt from the first order but have NOT paid yet - can you please pay Jeff as soon as possible. Funding the shirts is out of his own pocket and it would be appreciated if you could make an effort to pay him as soon as possible. 28.02.10 - March Grading coming soonThe next grading is less that 3 weeks away. For those of you who are thinking of grading if you are unsure of any of your techniques just have a chat to one of the senseis or one of your sempais (senior students) before or after class. If you are a still undecided about doing this grading please see Sensei Dom or Mark to discuss it further... sooner rather than later... 09.02.10 - This Saturday's classAs you all know this Saturday (13th) is the Ballina Beach Training day being organised by Sempai Mal. It looks like it is going to be a great day so for those that are thinking about it please see Sempai Mal at Wednesday night's training session. For those of you that aren't going to Ballina you will be glad to know that there will still be Saturday morning training as per usual at the dojo this weekend. 02.02.10 - T-Shirts- New OrderPlease note that I am getting another additional order for t-shirts to cater for specific sizes etc. This will be the last "top-up" order for awhile so if you want to get a t-shirt and would like to ensure you get a specific size/colour please let me know ASAP via kbweb@kyokushinbrisbane.com. Orders can be in Mens S, M, L, XL, XXL, XXXL or Womens cut 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20. Colours are White, Grey, Blue or Lime Green. Have a look at the t-shirts next time you are at the club if you want to check the colour. Cost is $30 and any proceeds are going to buying new equipment for the dojo 02.02.10 - Ballina Beach TrainingSempai Mal has organised a day at Lennox Head (Ballina) for Saturday the 13th of February. The day will consist of 2 sessions and will be run inconjunction with the senseis from Ballina area. It will start at 9:30am NSW time so it will mean an early start - meeting at the Brisbane dojo around 6-6:30am! BUT it should be a great day and one to help get your 2010 training on track! Please see Sempai Mal for more details and let him know if you will be coming along for the day! 29.01.10 - Change of date for State TitlesIn order to fit in this years National Training Camp the QLD State Titles have been moved from the 27th of March to the 10th of April!
This tournament will be a great chance for those who have just started Kyokushin and also for those who have trained for sometime but haven't had the chance to fight at a level suitable to them. Of course there is ample opportunity for those experienced fighters as well. Look out for more information on the event and application form are coming soon!
29.01.10 - National Training CampShihan Nik Cujic is hosting this year's Natioanl Training Camp in Heathcote, NSW (45 minutes drive from Sydney). The dates are 26,27 and 28th of March. Shihan Nik's branch is always very accomodating and it would be a great weekend of training for those looking to improve their Kyokushin skills and to just have a good time! If you are interested in attending the camp please let Sensei Dom know asap! 15.01.10 - 2010 CalendarThe 2010 Calendar is now on the web so it is time to start planning your training for 2010. The next event is the QLD State Titles in March. This is a great event for those who would like to have a go at the tournament side of Kyokushin. Please see one of the Senseis as soon as possible so that you can start preparing. More details on the tournament to come! 15.01.10 - Last update on T-shirtsT-shirts will be in the dojo from Monday 18th. If you have pre-ordered then please see Jeff Ainsworth at the club with your payment. It would be appreciated if you could pay with cash rather than card as this will mean we can process the payment without Sensei Dom having to be present to run the machine! If you didn't pre-order a shirt there have been some extras ordered, so once again please see Jeff regarding this on Monday, Wednesday or Saturday 11.01.10 - Update on T-shirtsI got word from the t-shirt providers that the t-shirts will be available at the latest early next week. Hopefully though we will get them this week. 07.01.10 - Welcome Back!The first class for the year was held last night under the guidence of Sensei Mark. Welcome to 2010 everyone who trainined! It was a great first session and gave everyone a taste for what is coming in 2010! Best wishes to everyone this year. We are looking forward to seeing great improvement in your training!
