Congratulations to Luke, Jason and Todd for a truly great effort in completing the Shodan grading with the famous 40 man kumite. Luke, Jase and Toddie did themselves and the Brisbane dojo extremely proud with their efforts and performance on the day. Luke did not put a foot wrong all day – his techniques and quick responses to every question thrown at him were very impressive. Jason improved on his instruction, self defense significantly to complete a very thorough grading.
Todd elected to do the 40 fights at the age of 48 (he didn’t flinch at the question when asked – “osu 40 thanks, that’s what I have been training for”. He completed his 40 man with some fuel still left in the tank – inspirational to all the younger members!!
Welcome to Tyson Bateman getting off his white belt and welcome back to Tim Bateman who has had a break from training but still has great form. A special mention to Glen Barnes who stances and powerful punches were very evident and a great example to Andrew (his son). Both really improving with each grade.
And finally to Lex, John and Carolyn – the usual things to work on but a really good effort by each of you to attain the next level in the long road to the blackbelt.
Next up we are off to Sydney for the national World Selection tournament. This looks set to be one of the largest divisions in many years with all South Pacific regions well represented. Lets all get behind the Brisbane dojo fighters to make sure they are selected in the team
