Well done to those who participated in the final grading for 2008. it was also pleasing to see the number of students who joined in to make the session a really strong end to what was a terrific year for the Brisbane Dojo. This grading was smaller than usual and gave me the opportunity to really test our lower grades. It does appear that some students are attempting grades without being fully prepared. This is a risk that you take and if your techniques is not up to scratch you simply won’t progress.
Their were several areas that need attention such as stances and moving between stances. If a stance is too wide, then when you move to another stance it will also become incorrect and this was evident on the day. We all need to be more aware of what our requirements are and make sure you know them, otherwise you will end up doing the same grading twice!!
As we move into 2009 I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year and if your still on vacation (half your luck) see you when your back. We have plenty in store for 2009 so the more you participate the more you will benefit.
See you back at training.
