General Comments
Congratulations to those who graded. Particular mention to the three seniors who really lead by example not only in the grading itself but in the few months lead up, with very thorough preparation.
I was particularly pleased with the efforts shown by all, especially to Jamie Cooper and Elliot Levi. A great effort put in for a most improved performance.
Clearly Balan, Todd and Tiffany showed lots of preparation in their technique, not making any real errors during the day.
Please remember that each time you gain a level, doesn't mean you forget the previous levels. If you refer to the syllibus, each level begins with the words "In addition to all previous requirements you will need to demonstrate the following". This simply says that as you progress through the stages you need to continue to build on your knowledge not simply know the requirements for your particular level.
Over the coming months the Brisbane dojo will be very busy hosting the Nationals on August 27th, the Camp one week later at Bornhoffin (Gold Coast Hinterland) and then the September grading. Its going to be a great opportunity to increase your knowledge, skills and fitness just by being involved.
I would like to finish with one final point. The tournament being held on Aug 27th will have a Kata section. If it is your intention to improve your kata, then there is no better way to test yourself than by entering the kata tournament. These kinds of events are compulsory in many countries in order to ensure a high standard of technique. Hope to see you all back at training soon.
