GENERAL COMMENTS
Once again, very pleasing to see the amount of effort put in by all those who graded. I want to make special mention of Michael McEachern who completed the infamous 40 man kumite. He did it with incredible stamina, skill and spirit. Only in the final bout did he show any form of pain or tiring. Anyone who has been involved in the dojo over the last 12 months is aware of how hard he has been training for this event. Well done Michael.
Also congratulations to Mal Gouldstone and Mark Gammon on achieving their Nidans. This is a real milestone in karate and a great achievement. Both Mark and Mal have been preparing for around 18 months and it really paid off, so congratulations Mal and Mark.
Tim and Nick had 20 very hard fights and showed superior fighting skills all the way. The big one next year for those two. THe preparation starts now!!
It is always good to see white belts getting their first grade. So Chris, Xavier and Cameron you are now officially members of the Bris dojo.
I was very pleased with the performance with only a few things to mention. The back hand needs to be pulled tighter during all basic punches and blocks. The foot posture for kicks needs to be more defined. Lots of feet flapping in the air waiting to be injured. More urgency must be shown when stepping into Yoi to start a kata.
Its always the little things that can make such a big difference to our karate progression.
Congratulations again and I look forward to seeing everyone back at the dojo and training hard.
